20 July 2015… People from different cities, with different ideologies and backgrounds were waiting to cross from Suruç to Kobane with the campaign „We Defended Together, We Build Together“ with the call of SGDF (Socialist Youth Associations Federation). Our friends, comrades, and loved ones, who aimed to cross to Kobane to take part in the construction of basic and humanitarian needs such as schools, playgrounds, libraries, and infrastructure after the war and destruction, were subjected to a suicide bomb attack by the Islamist ISIS gang while they were making their press statements.
We are conscious of the responsibility of remembering the Suruç Massacre in which 33 revolutionaries, 5 of whom were anarchists, were massacred; of commemorating our dear friends, socialist and anarchist comrades, with whom we laughed and had fun, fought and grieved together, and of embracing their struggle and memories.
We invite all friends and comrades to the event where the Suruç (Amara) documentary, which consists of interviews with witnesses of the massacre and camera recordings before, after and during the massacre, and interviews with family members, friends and comrades of our anarchist comrades will be screened and the political atmosphere of the period will be discussed.
The event will take place in English and the documentary will be in Turkish with English subtitles.

Suruç Katliamı Anması
20 Temmuz 2015… Farklı şehirlerden, farklı ideoloji ve geçmişe sahip insanlar, SGDF(Sosyalist Gençlik Dernekleri Federasyonu)’nin çağrısıyla “Beraber Savunduk Beraber İnşa Ediyoruz” kampanyası ile birlikte Suruç’tan Kobane’ye geçmek üzere beklemekteydiler. Savaşın ve yıkımın ardından okul, çocuk parkı, kütüphane ve altyapı gibi temel ve insani ihtiyaçların inşasında yer almak üzere Kobane’ye geçmeyi amaçlayan dostlarımız,yoldaşlarımız, sevdiklerimiz basın açıklamalarını gerçekleştirdikleri sırada İslamcı Işid çetesinin canlı bomba saldırısına maruz kaldılar.
5’i Anarşist 33 devrimcinin, 33 Düş Yolcusunun katledildiği Suruç Katliamını hatırlamanın; beraber gülüp eğlendiğimiz, beraber dövüşüp, beraber üzüldüğümüz sevgili dostlarımızı, sosyalist ve anarşist yoldaşlarımızı anmanın, mücadelelerini ve anılarını sahiplenmenin sorumluluğunun bilincini taşıyoruz.
Katliamın tanıkları ile gerçekleştirilen röportajlardan ve katliamın öncesi, sonrası ve katliam sırasında ki kamera kayıtlarından oluşan Suruç (Amara) belgeselinin ve Anarşist yoldaşlarımızın aile üyeleri, arkadaş ve yoldaşları ile yapılan röportajların gösterimi ve dönemin politik atmosferine dair aktarımların olacağı etkinliğe tüm dost ve yoldaşları davet ederiz.
Etkinlik; İngilizce dilinde gerçekleşecek olup belgeseller ise Türkçe dilinde ve İngilizce alt yazılı olacaktır.
